Three days and two nights of high adventure.
Day 1: Our first stop was at this spectacular waterfall. Rain poured from the sky virtually every minute of the 3-plus hour mountain trek on the first day. Because of the need for free hands and sure footing not to mention being soaked to the bone, no pictures. Nevertheless, a good time was had by all. We overnighted in a native Thai village. Day 2: More trekking and elephant back riding. My right knee was giving me serious trouble on descent and I considered cutting short the third day. By the time I mentioned my plans to our Nuun, guide, he informed me that transit had been arranged for 7 people (excluding me).

He assured me that the trek from the elephant ride end to the village where we would stay overnight should be manageable. He found a tree limb and fashioned a staff/walking stick that I used to negotiate the trail. I'm grateful for his help because the third day was great. Lars, Camilla and Dav went hiking while I tended my knee. After dinner, but before Dav returned from an extended hike, Lars, Camilla and I were convinced by several village women that a massage would be the perfect relaxer. We agreed. In our hut, the masseuses, their children and some of their pets gave Lanna massages to the three of us. Heavenly. Click on photos to enlarge.
Day 3: Rafting - The day started out rainy. After a while, the rain subsided providing an opportunity to enjoy some spectacular scenery. Click on photos to enlarge.
